Required Qualifications
To Teach In Australia
Teaching Registration
Please note: you WILL need to demonstrate the following before we can put you forward for a role and ensure successful registration with VIT
- Completed University-Level Education totalling 4 Years of Learning
- Completed Degree in Education (B.Ed. or M.Ed or PGCE or PDCE)
- With 45+ days of Supervised Practice Teaching (sometimes referred to as student teaching)
- Clear Police Record Check
- Prove English Language ability by:
- Completing your Education Degree in Aust., New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada, Ireland OR
- Completing an IELTS Assessment - Academic Module
- Min Band 8 in Listening and Speaking
- Min Band 7 in Reading and Writing
Visa
The following Visa’s are currently on offer to teachers who have secured teaching positions at one of our leading schools.
407 Training Visa
Facilitating applicants with under 1 year of formal teaching experience, the 407 Training Visa, enables teachers to live and work in Australia as a teacher for up to 2 years, building valuable experience and expertise in the Victorian Education System before transitioning to the 482 Visa.
Term: Upto 2 Years
Cost: $430 AUD per adult
Cost: $110 AUD per child
482 Skills In Demand Visa
Facilitating applicants with over 1 year of formal teaching experience, the 482 Skills In Demand Visa, enables teachers to live and work in Australia as a teacher for up to 4 years, building valuable experience and securing eligibility for Australian permanent residency and citizenship.
Term: Upto 4 Years
Cost: $3210 AUD per adult
Cost: $805 AUD per child
